Boot Camp was hot and rainy. The OC (obstacle course) helped us work as a team. There were 27 on the team – 18 girls and 9 guys. We had commissioning on July 6 and flew to London three days later. We took a bus to Wales and got lost for six hours… It wasn’t funny. BUT we finally made it. We stayed in a hall that was the STF (Save The Family) church building. The guys stayed downstairs and the girls stayed upstairs.
The team gave presentations every Sunday we were there. We sang songs, did puppets, and skits. The kids and adults liked it. |
We cut brush, we hauled brush, we burnt brush. Then we built a dam. The team finished it before leaving. The team also built an OC for STF. It wasn’t totally finished before needing to leave.
We didn’t work all the time. We had daytrips to Snowdonia National Park, Ireland and spent some time in London before flying home. |

I grew in my personal devotions and learned a lot of memory verses. My two favorites are “Beloved, let us love one another for love is of God” and “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest unto your souls.”
